Francis Leavey

Francis Leavey is a contemporary artist whose practice is characterised by a refined exploration of form, colour, and material. Drawing upon both traditional techniques and modern visual sensibilities, his work engages with themes of nature, identity and memory. His paintings often balance abstraction with representation to create an appealing visual language that is both familiar yet encourages sustained reflection.

He works from his (often messy) studio in Temple Bar, Dublin where he can also be found playing guitar or hosting workshops.

His work has been selected for renowned juried exhibitions at home and abroad.

Notable exhibitions include the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA), The Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour, The American Watercolor Society, The International Watercolour Masters and The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour.
