Bríd Lyons
Bríd Lyons is a Wexford based visual artist. Pastel is her main medium, but she also uses mixed media in her work. Her paintings are explorations of the luminosity and the essence of the landscape. She paints mostly with soft pastels as they allow the freedom to draw and paint at the same time.
Colour sits at the heart of her painting, creating mood and meaning. Shifts in hue and light shape space, dissolve boundaries and allow the landscape to exist somewhere between observation and memory.
Bríd has studied with well-known American Master pastelists Casey Klahn, Eve Miller and Loriann Signori.
She is a member of The Pastel Society of Ireland, The Pastel Guild of Europe and The Irish Palette.
